題名の「日新日々新」とは古代中国の王の言葉が元と言われております。
今日という日は、天地開闢以来はじめて訪れた貴重な日なのだから、今日の行いは昨日より新しくよくなり、明日は今日よりもさらに新しくなるように心がけるべきであるという心構えを示しているとされます。
天に向かって伸び行く松の木を見ながら笑うお坊さんの姿を見ていると自然と元気が湧いてくるような作品です。

馬骨子才林
1940年京都生まれ。
細々と京の街中に住み、年を重ねつつ戯描と笑止、独自の墨描にて、我道を趣くまま、少々の荷を背負いながらぼつぼつと歩く。
他に書き記し誇れることもなく、只、撲心の一筆であればと思っております。

The words of the title are said to be based on the words of an ancient Chinese king.
It is said to indicate that since today is the first precious day since the creation of the world, we should be mindful that our actions today will be newer and better than yesterday, and that tomorrow will be even newer than today.

I have lived in Kyoto for many years, drawing pictures in a playful way. I have spent my life with my own unique ink drawings, following my own path and carrying a little burden on my back.
I have nothing else to write down and be proud of, and I will continue to draw with an unadorned heart.
