The Niomon gate was rebuilt by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1631 after being destroyed by fire in 1631. It was designated as a national treasure in the Meiji era (1868-1912), but was destroyed by fire in an air raid in 1945. In 1964, the late Eitaro Otani, the third president of the Asakusa Tourist Federation, donated funds to reconstruct the present Hozomon.

仁王門は1631年に焼失した後、徳川家光によって再建された。明治時代には国宝に指定されましたが、1945年の空襲で焼失してしまいました。1964年、浅草観光連盟の第3代会長であった故大谷栄太郎氏が寄付を行い現在の宝蔵門が再建されました。
